In today’s economy everyone is looking for ways to save money. When it comes to your HVAC system, you can get the most out of your equipment by maintaining it properly. Just like a car needs to have regular maintenance to perform at its peak, so does your HVAC system. By having a professionally trained technician complete a routine maintenance twice a year (for a residence) and quarterly (for a commercial building), you can ensure that your HVAC system is running at its peak efficiency. Premium Heating and Air Conditioning offers Energy Savings Maintenance Programs for both residential and commercial customers.
There are many advantages of enrolling in Sunstate’s scheduled maintenance programs. First, routine maintenance will keep your system running more efficiently and thus extend the life of your equipment. Next, as an Energy Savings partner, you will be given top priority in scheduling, which can come in handy on a very hot or very cold day. Lastly, you will receive a discount on any service call performed on your HVAC system.
What’s new in HVAC?
A recent trend in HVAC systems is called a ductless mini-split system—a heat pump without any ductwork. Air is re-circulated throughout your living or working space utilizing a strategically wall mounted evaporator coil and blower motor contained in a sleek, attractive cabinet, commonly called a head. In cases where you are trying to condition the air in multiple or larger rooms, you may need to utilize more than one head for your mini-split system.
There are many advantages of a mini-split system. They are much more efficient than a standard central HVAC system because there is zero air loss; they achieve very high SEER, EER, and HSPF ratings by utilizing variable speed technology; and they are also very quiet compared to traditional HVAC systems. Additionally, mini-split systems can be installed in applications where running ductwork is not possible. The systems also come in air conditioning only models. They are frequently used in commercial applications, such as server rooms, where the equipment needs constant cooling.
HVAC Ventilation Ductwork
Your duct design is an extremely important component of your HVAC system’s performance. Occasionally, your home or office building may experience hot or cold spots. Sometimes this is due to improper duct design or damaged ductwork. This can be corrected by properly distributing air throughout ductwork.
Sunstate Mechanical Contractors, Inc. meets or exceeds industry standards when designing your duct system or upgrading your existing ducting system. Ductwork corrections can be as simple as relocating the position of a duct on your distribution box or simply enlarging the size of a duct’s diameter to eliminate airflow issues. Sometimes a new duct may need to be added to a room to achieve the proper airflow to that area. Ducting can be old and poorly installed, resulting in numerous air leaks. Sunstate Mechanical Contractors, Inc. can identify air loss locations, correct the problems, and in turn, reduce your energy costs.
